How did a fashion blogger pack for a weekend trip and only bring 1 pair of shoes? All it takes is the perfect mini capsule wardrobe and the right pair of shoes 😉

Only a week into my time in Florence, Italy, my school had already planned an included weekend trip to Turin, Italy for us students. Since this was only my first time in Europe and I am not a seasoned traveler, my brain blanked at the thought of what to pack.

I first started with the shoes. As a fashion blogger, I wasn’t keen on only wearing my white sneakers for every outfit. Luckily during the week I had worn my Suede Steve Madden Over-the-Knee boots {similar here}, and walking in them was surprisingly comfortable. So I based all three outfits around them.

Our itinerary for the first day was a 3 hour train ride and then straight to the cinema museum (which was absolutely incredible). This was my comfiest outfit out of the three. I wore this oversized HM turtleneck sweater with my favorite Madewell Tencel Skinny Jeans. To stay warm I wore knee high socks under my boots.

The second day was full of exploring Turin. I fell in love with city instantly. Turin, Italy is very close to Nice, France and you could see a blend of Parisian and Italian style in the architecture. I knew I wanted to take balcony photos this day and wanted to channel my inner Parisian style so I wore my Madewell Cashmere Mockneck dress and belted the waist with a Crocodile belt (also from Madewell). I accessorized with my Mejuri organic pearl earrings.

Turin, Italy is known for having the best hot chocolate so of course I had to try! It definitely lived up to that title!

For our final day in Turin we visited the Egyptian Museum and then had free time to explore until we had to take the train back to Florence. The day before, I impulsively bought a pageboy hat from an Italian hat boutique. I had been wanting one for almost a year now and this was the first one to fit me and my style perfectly. Lucky for me (and my amazing mini capsule wardrobe skills) it matched my final outfit perfectly.

For my final look I layered a black long sleeve bodysuit with my Madewell Blazer which is one of my go to “easy outfits”. To keep my packing light I styled this outfit with the jeans I also wore the first day. The hat tied the look together perfectly {here is a similar one}. I wore a low messy bun with the hat and made sure to pull out some face framing pieces.

Things I learned for next time:

>Always pack a going out outfit

> Try to squeeze a pair of slides or sneakers for when you and your roomie get hungry at 11am and you don’t want to put your knee high boots back on (hehe)

>Save some room for shopping 😉

Stay tuned for more Europe looks!

xoxo, marta courtenay.
